Calvary Sligo

Salt to Souls, Light for Life

A Community Church Welcoming All!

About Us.

Calvary Sligo, a non-denominational Community Church, is a faith community new to Sligo. We aspire to be a church where everyone will feel welcome, and we want to extend a heartfelt welcome to you and your family!

Calvary Sligo meets together to remember, learn, and worship Jesus, who is the Son of God! We remember Him through the bread and the cup of Communion. We learn of Him through consistent, verse-by-verse, teaching of the Scriptures. We worship Him through song and prayer!

Whether you are seeking to know more about God or have been a believer in Christ for some time, Calvary Sligo exists to help people experience a growing relationship with God!

What is Calvary Chapel?

Calvary Chapel is a worldwide fellowship of Christian churches known for its simple, yet sound, expositional approach to God's Word. During 1965 in Southern California, Pastor Chuck Smith began his ministry at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa with just twenty-five people. At a pivotal time in history, Smith welcomed all, young and old, without judgment, into the local church. With a sincere concern for the lost and a strong emphasis on the Word of God, Pastor Chuck and his wife Kay made room in the church and their home for a generation of hippies and surfers, serving in the midst of a powerful movement of the Holy Spirit that spread throughout the world. In the wake of that move of the Holy Spirit, what began as a small local church grew into an international family of over 1700 churches around the world. Today, the churches who make up the Calvary Ireland network continue to emphasise the sound expositional teaching of Scripture, the empowering of the Holy Spirit, and our fellowship one with another - all that we may know Him deeper and make Him known more broadly throughout Ireland and the world.
